The following outlines the six-step process that guides every project from initial enquiry to successful delivery.
1. Scoping
At GSBC Solutions, the first phase of every project is scoping, undertaken at risk to demonstrate commitment to understanding your business and its processes. The team takes the time to engage with key stakeholders, gather and list both system and business requirements, and produce a series of comprehensive documents. These include a detailed scope of work, a high-level process map, a concept application design, and ultimately, a working prototype application. The prototype serves to illustrate some of the key features discussed, ensuring that both the client and GSBC Solutions have a shared understanding of what the final solution will look like.
2. Quotation and Proposal
Once the scoping phase is complete, GSBC Solutions builds a project plan and determines the solution price, presenting both in a formal proposal. The cost of the initial scoping work is included as part of the first project milestone. All payment milestones and timelines are clearly delineated within the proposal, allowing clients to make informed decisions. The proposal’s pricing structure is designed to give clients the flexibility to stage or phase modules according to their own time frames and budget constraints.
3. Placement of Order
Upon acceptance of the proposal and placement of an order, GSBC Solutions issues an invoice for the Scoping phase. This payment acts as the initial deposit for the project, enabling work to progress into the development stages.
4. Hosting
4.1 Quickbase Projects (Realm Setup)
For projects involving Quickbase, the client’s realm is established on the Quickbase platform. Once the account is activated, GSBC Solutions transfers the prototype application into the client’s realm, laying the foundation for the commencement of the full development phase.
4.2 Website Projects (Hosting)
For website projects, initial development takes place on a secure development server. When the website is ready for public launch, it is migrated to the client’s live domain, ensuring a seamless transition from development to production.
5. Subject Matter Experts
The involvement of subject matter experts from the client’s team is crucial. GSBC Solutions encourages clients to assign key personnel to collaborate closely on the project. These individuals are added to the new application at the earliest opportunity, enabling them to test, review, and provide valuable feedback. This collaborative approach accelerates the development process and supports the delivery of applications in phases, allowing for quicker realisation of business value.
6. Development
The application is developed according to the specifications defined during the scoping phase. For larger projects, development is structured around phased milestones. Each milestone or project phase concludes with rigorous internal testing, followed by client acceptance testing. The appointed subject matter experts remain involved throughout, ensuring the project remains aligned with expectations and that any required changes are managed proactively between GSBC Solutions and the client.
